Gossamer wins 1000 Guineas at the Curragh
Gossamer has won the Entenmann's Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh.
The daughter of Sadler's Wells, clearly relishing the testing conditions, cruised into contention a quarter of a mile for home.
Gossamer, the 4-1 favourite, won by four and a half lengths from Quarter Moon (9-2), the best of Aidan O'Brien's five runners, with O'Brien's Starbourne a length back in third.
