Horse Racing: Gold Cup brother on sale at Doncaster

A half-brother to Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate will be the star on show at Doncaster sales next month.

The four-year-old is a son of Roselier, the sire of Martell Grand National winner Bindaree. He will be consigned by Kilminfoyle House Stud.

Commenting on the entry Henry Beeby, managing director of Doncaster Bloodstock Sales, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer this superb four-year-old and have little doubt that he will attract maximum attention on sales day.

"He is all one could wish for in a potential National Hunt horse."

The three and four-year-old store section of the Spring Sale takes place on May 27 and 28 with the second part devoted to horses in training and point-to-pointers.

Doncaster sales holds the record price of 100,000 guineas for a four-year-old store, which has been paid out on three occasions in the past.

Best Mate's dam Katday is also responsible this season for Edward O'Grady's promising Naas bumper winner Inca Trail.
