Compton Dragon could bid to enhance owner Erik Penser’s excellent record in the Macau Jockey Club Craven Stakes before a possible tilt at the Sagitta 2000 Guineas.

Compton Dragon could bid to enhance owner Erik Penser’s excellent record in the Macau Jockey Club Craven Stakes before a possible tilt at the Sagitta 2000 Guineas.

The Woodman colt, trained by Gerard Butler, is one of 13 entries for the Group Three contest at Newmarket.

Beauchamp King and Compton Admiral have already landed the Craven for Penser, and Compton Dragon has been aimed at Thursday’s race since scoring on the Polytrack at Lingfield last month.

Sir Michael Stoute has put King Of Happiness in the one-mile test.

The son of Spinning World has been working well of late on the Newmarket gallops and is reported on course for the Craven.

King Of Happiness has run only once, winning a seven-runner maiden race at Doncaster in August, but has been well backed for the 2000 Guineas and is a 12-1 chance with the Tote for the May 4 Classic.

Aidan O’Brien has four entries in the Craven. They are Creekview, Della Francesca, Salentino and Ursa Minor.
