Kenya's Edith Masai takes the gold medal in the Women's World Championship Cross Country event at Leopardstown. The event was run over a 228 metre distance.

At second was Kidane Werknesh of Ethiopia

Isabella Ochichi of Kenya was third.

Ireland's Sonia O' Sullivan made it in at seventh place.
