Horse Racing: Tamburlaine gets duty free entry

Tamburlaine, runner-up to Golan in last year’s Sagitta 2000 Guineas, has been entered in the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba on Saturday.

Olivier Peslier has been pencilled in to ride the Richard Hannon-trained four-year-old, who ran consistently without winning in 2001.

Nerys Dutfield has added her fast-ground specialist Misty Eyed to the field for the six-furlong Dubai Golden Shaheen on the same card with Kevin Darley booked to ride.

The grey filly’s best effort last season came when she finished second, beaten one and three-quarter lengths behind Cassandra Go in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Peslier also rides Sagacity for his boss Andre Fabre in the Sheema Classic and will be aboard the

Japanese-trained To The Victory, last year’s runner-up, in the Dubai World Cup.

Gerald Mosse has been booked by Carlos Laffon-Parias to ride Keltos in the Dubai World Cup and he also takes the ride for the same trainer, on Dananeyev in the Golden Shaheen, where Thierry Jarnet will continue his association with the Richard Whitaker-trained Captain Rio.

Peslier once again enjoyed a highly successful period in Japan this winter, riding 26 winners including the Japan Cup on Jungle Pocket.
