French trainer Guillaume Macaire was ultra-critical of jockey Jaques Ricou’s riding of unplaced Jair Du Cochet in the Bonusprint Stayers’ Hurdle landed by Baracouda at Cheltenham.

The trainer was left fuming after he considered Ricou made too much use of the five-year-old, who started 9-1 third favourite and eventually finished seventh beaten, 20 lengths, after cutting out a lot of the running.
