Horse Racing: Further inspection at Musselburgh
Officials at Musselburgh will hold a further inspection at 10am before giving the green light to this afternoon's meeting.
Parts of the Scottish course have a slight covering of snow and frost but clerk of the course Bill Farnsworth is "hopeful" the situation will improve in order for racing to take place.
He said: "We've got a slight covering of snow and frost but only really where it is a bit bare on the track. Where there's grass it's fine, no problem.
"At the moment it is very nearly raceable, we're just quite not happy with it. The temperature at the moment is zero and it's not going to get any worse as there is cloud cover with a breeze as well.
"The cloud cover does pose a slight threat in that we may get some snow showers this morning but that is unlikely.
"It is going to remain very cold so even though the frost and snow is very slight it is not going to come out very quickly.
"We will have another inspection at 10am but we are hopeful."
