Horse racing: Bangor meeting abandoned

Officials at Bangor have been forced to abandon Friday’s National Hunt meeting after an inspection this morning.

Clerk of the course Michael Webster explained: ‘‘We’ve had to abandon as the course is flooded.

‘‘We’ve got a large section between two fences that is several feet under water and, if anything, the puddle has grown overnight.

‘‘We’re forecast a dry day today but rain and gales tomorrow.’’
