Horse racing: Inspection at Punchestown

Officials at Punchestown are optimistic tomorrow’s meeting will go ahead as planned.

Racing director Richie Galway said: ‘‘Right now I feel we will be OK tomorrow although we will have to bypass the fourth and third last fences because the take-off areas were badly affected by the heavy rain.

‘‘We have fresh ground on the hurdles course which is perfectly OK.’’

The stewards will inspect the track at 7am tomorrow.
