Rich Ricci reveals angst after Vautour’s ‘sad’ demise

Owner Rich Ricci says his “heart went out to Willie Mullins” when the trainer rang him to tell him three-time Cheltenham Festival winner Vautour had died in freak accident on Sunday.

Paying tribute to the brilliant seven-year-old last night, Ricci thanked all those who have offered their condolences.

“He was a hell of a horse, no doubt about it. It’s very sad,” Ricci said.
