Adrian Heskin feels Kilbree Kid will give him perfect start in new job
The 24-year-old will team up with the Slad handler for the first time in the extended two-mile-seven-furlong event when getting the leg up on the three-times course winner.
Although the Grade One-winning rider, who moved to Britain on Monday, has yet to partner the nine-year-old, he expects his previous course form to help bolster his prospects of giving the fledgling partnership the perfect beginning.
Heskin said: “It is my first visit to Perth and I’m looking forward to riding Kilbree Kid. He has a bit of squeak, as he has good form around there which can count for a lot.
“It is great to be starting a new job and hopefully it won’t be too long before I get off the mark.
“I’m delighted to be on call for Tom as, without naming any horses, he looks like he has some nice young ones in for the season.
“There are no targets as such, as I’m not too bothered by numbers. I just want to ride good horses in good races.”
