Today's Tips: Heartbreak City can open account over hurdles at Tipperary

The Tony Martin-trained six-year-old has finished in the frame only once in six attempts over hurdles. But his flat form is rock-solid and, reverting to hurdling, he should prove very difficult to beat.

Currently rated 109 over hurdles, he finished third to Gusty Rocky, off this similar mark, in a handicap hurdle in Killarney last July.

On the flat, Heartbreak City won a competitive handicap in York last summer, off a mark of 88, in addition to contesting the English Cesarewitch, the Leopardstown November Handicap and, most recently, the Chester Cup.

Tony Martin has booked Jack Kennedy to partner Heartbreak City, which should outclass his rivals. He looks the stand-out bet in the National Hunt part of this evening’s card, although Jessica Harrington’s Katy P, a promising third to Hitherjacques Lady on her debut n Cheltenham last month appeals in the mares bumper which closes the card.

In the flat action, the Ger Lyons-trained Imagine If sets the standard in the opening two-year-old maiden.

This Dream Ahead colt looked green on his debut at Navan, when beaten a half-length by the experienced Callendar, and holds Sebastian Bach (third) on that form.

With the Navan run under his belt, Imagine If should be tough to beat here and might have the edge over Ballydoyle colt Pedestal, far from disgraced on his debut behind Van Der Decken on his debut at the Curragh on Sunday.

The five-furlong Follow Tipperary On Facebook Handicap looks tricky. But Lady Mega, a course and distance winner, sets the standard on her recent third behind subsequent winner Ardhoomey and In Salutem in Navan.
