Pat Fahy ponders Galway Plate tilt for Morning Assembly

The Grade One-winning gelding was off the track for the best part of two years prior to making his comeback at the start of 2016 and while he has failed to hit the bullseye in four subsequent starts, he has run some excellent races in defeat.
Runner-up finishes at Fairyhouse and Gowran Park teed him up for a trip to the Cheltenham Festival, where he ran a blinder to finish fourth. He was well-backed for the world’s most famous steeplechase on Merseyside, but after jumping and travelling well for a long way, he eventually weakened to finish a well-beaten eighth.
