Out of a half-sister to former Leger winner Boherash Gaoithe, it took numerous efforts for this fellow to shed his maiden status but when the breakthrough came it arrived in style, with a 28.33 victory. Highly tried since, this race represented one of his easiest assignments for some time, and he had little trouble making the most of the opportunity.

After riding an early bump, the 6-4 favourite had the pace to clear the three runners on his inner, and then turned third behind Ballycannon Hero. An impressive turn of pace carried him to the front racing to the third bend, and he pulled clear in great style to beat the long-time leader by five lengths, in 28.49.
