The 2-1 chance, trained by Graham Holland, flew out and dominated from the outset. He never looked in danger as he galloped home three and a half lengths clear of Razldazl Rince in 28.38, with Jaytee Dutch exiting the stake, in fifth.
Holland also took the second heat with Jo Jo Fantasy. The even-money favourite found early trouble but quickened to lead down the back and proceeded to put eight lengths between himself and Milldean Puma, in 28.76.
The sponsor’s Black Alder took the opening heat by the minimum margin. Toolmaker Scot tried to make all and looked in command until his stamina ran out in the closing stages.
Owned by Peter Comerford and Tony Moore, Black Alder on hand to take advantage, doing so by a short head, in 28.56.
Juvenile Derby winner Anopheles produced a flawless performance in the third heat.
In a race with plenty of early pace, Liam Dowling’s pup proved sharpest of all and, being a strong stayer, victory was never in doubt thereafter. Running powerfully, he pulled six lengths clear of Creamery Bale, in 28.52.
The lightly raced Follys View took the first heat in round two of the Gain Feeds Christmas Oaks. Brendan Matthews’ bitch didn’t break as well as she has done in the past, but showed pace before forcing her way through along the inside around the opening bends.
The strong-running Priceless Lassie looked a real danger from halfway, but the leader proved plucky as she held that rival’s challenge by a length, in 28.59.
As she had done in the first round, the remarkable Ballydoyle Honey left it late to land the spoils, when winning heat two.
The Graham Holland-trained bitch was only fourth down the back, where she raced wide, and then forced to switch wide around the final bends.
She then switched to make a daring run between rivals as they turned for home, and he class shone through as asserted late to win by a length, in 28.62, with kennel companions Rural Maui and Skywalker Pearl following her home.
Shane O’Gorman’s Yahoo Perlena possesses exceptional early pace, and used it to best effect in heat three. The 5-2 chance quickened three clear of Moanteen Beauty down the back, and held that rival by a neck, in 28.42.
Urban Gossip produced a performance remarkably similar to litter sister Ballydoyle Honey earlier in the night when taking heat four for trainer Reggie Roberts. Out the back and impeded early, she made steady progress down the back and, with a late lunge between runners, prevailed by a neck from Hovex Princess, in 28.84.
