Idir An Bheirt can make a quick return to winning ways in the final of the Macra Na Feirme A3 525 at Curraheen Park.

Fr Patrick Lawton and Thomas O’Sullivan’s November ’13 whelp was an impressive winner of his first-round heat, matching strides with flying early pacer Laughil Jet around four bends, before pulling clear late.

Although beaten in the semi-finals, he showed fine early speed and his persistent effort took its toll late on as he faded to finish second behind Burley Babe.
