Munaashid, who contests the one-mile maiden, makes most appeal on today’s eight-race programme at the Curragh. The Dermot Weld-trained colt made his debut at this track little more than a fortnight ago, and was notably well backed beforehand to make a winning start .

The son of Lonhro ran very well, but was unable to quicken up at the business end, and had to settle for sixth place, beaten just two lengths, behind Hit It A Bomb. The winner has since franked the form, running away with a listed event at Dundalk, while fourth-placed Cook Islands was similarly impressive winning his maiden, last week at Navan.

He has a little to find with Theodorico on that form, but that rival had the benefit of two previous runs, and the extra furlong should also help Munaashid reverse the form.
