Robbie McNamara has a day out at Navan
McNamara, who who has been in hospital with spinal injuries since suffering a bad fall in April, had ridden the Gold Cup ante-post favourite on his first ever start.
“I was in hospital this morning and getting a little bit bored,” he said. “I thought it would be nice to get a few hours away.”
McNamara, who suffered multiple fractured ribs, fractured vertebrae, internal bleeding and collapsed and punctured lungs in the fall at Wexford, was having a second day out in quick succession. He continued: “Friday I got out for a spot of lunch and it made a change from hospital food.”
