Togoville strikes again

Progressive grey Togoville struck again for Georgios Pakidis and Gary Carroll in the featured At The Races Price Rush On Facebook Handicap as Dundalk’s winter season closed last night.

Togoville strikes again

The five-year-old has now won four of his six starts on the polytrack since joining the Greek-born trainer and displayed his customary tenacity here, dictating the pace before digging deep to keep Strait Of Zanzibar at bay by a neck.

Pakidis declared: “We’ll probably look at some listed races for him now – he beat a couple of nice horses tonight.

“We gave him a short break, to freshen him up. He probably wants good ground and we’ll keep going with him.”

Indian Tomahawk, which beat the smart Charlie Bear in his maiden in November, captured the Compare Prices At attheraces.com/odds Median Auction Maiden, pouncing late under apprentice Shane Kelly to beat Maira by a neck in a blanket-finish.

“He’s won two and is improving,” said winning trainer Michael O’Callaghan. “He was carrying a lot of condition tonight and should improve. I have no real plan for him – we’ll see what the handicapper does to him.”

Having his third run since joining Johnny Feane, 11/8 favourite Asian Wing bolted-up in the At The Races UPC 418 Handicap, clearly relishing the step-up to two miles.

Always travelling well for Fran Berry, he edged ahead with less than two furlongs to race before forging clear to score by six lengths, prompting Feane to state: “It was a bad race, but he won well.”

Berry completed a double when Shabra Emperor, trained by Anthony McCann for Rita Shah, notched his fourth polytrack success by defying top-weight in the seven-furlong At The Races SKY 415 Handicap. The six-year-old landed a tidy gamble, supported from 9/2 to 2/1 favouritism
