Ayr Gold Cup target for Your Pal Tal

Trainer Johnny Levins divulged that the Ayr Gold Cup next September is the long-term target for Your Pal Tal following the progressive five-year-old’s victory in last night’s opener in Dundalk.

A winner over the minimum trip two weeks ago, Your Pal Tal raced prominently again under apprentice Donagh O’Connor (riding his sixth winner) and ran on strongly to beat Almadaa by a length and a quarter.

“I have a plan for this horse, but tonight wasn’t part of it,” admitted Levins. “He was working so well that Donagh begged me to run him again. We’ll give him a break now and freshen him up.”
