Ability set to deliver for Browne

The Michael Browne-trained Ability N Delivery can land the five furlongs Crowne Plaza Hotel Race And Stay Handicap at Dundalk tonight.

Ability set to deliver for Browne

As a nine-year-old, he is now very much a veteran for flat racing, but remains in good form and will take plenty of beating.

He was in action on this track a week ago, looking the likely winner for most of the straight. It wasn’t to be in the end, however, and he was run out of it close home and beaten half a length into second by Kimbay.

That was Ability N Delivery’s first run since early September, he also took second to Kimbay then, and is entitled to strip fitter on this occasion. The fact he races off the same mark as last week is obviously a positive.

Michael Halford is having a tremendous time on the polytrack and can keep the run going with Belezza Oscura in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden.

She flattered to deceive over seven furlongs last time, before being beaten five lengths into second by Sparklingsovereign here last month.

Belleza Oscura is now dropped right down to the minimum trip and that may hold the key.

Havelock Ellis is fancied to defy top weight in the concluding Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey And Trainer Championship Handicap.

He went up 10lbs for winning cosily here a week ago, but that is now offset by the booking of Donagh O’Connor.
