Fever and Europe aim for Oil strike

Champagne Fever and Sizing Europe are two of the star names amongst 11 entries for the Clonmel Oil Chase next Thursday.

Having previously landed the Champion Bumper and the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, the Willie Mullins-trained Champagne Fever came close to becoming a three-times Cheltenham Festival winner when narrowly denied in last season’s Arkle.

The King George VI Chase at Kempton on December 26 has been identified as a potential target for the flying grey this term but he could kick off his season at Powerstown Park next week.
