The Corkman and the gelding Diaghilev joined 13 rivals in the jump-off in Lyon, France, but could not reproduce the form that saw the pair finish second in Friday’s grand prix.

Ultimately, eight faults left Twomey in 11th place, but this was good enough to put him on the Western European League table with six points.
