McCoy returns to action with two rides at Chepstow
The champion jockey took a break from the saddle after feeling the effects of a crashing fall at Worcester earlier this month.
He returns on the potentially exciting Son Du Berlais in the totepool Persian War Novices’ Hurdle for Nicky Henderson in the silks of his boss, JP McManus.
The French import was an effortless winner at Newton Abbot last month and immediately steps up in class.
Frank Berry, racing manger to McManus, said: “Nicky is very happy with him. He’s come out of the (Newton Abbot) race well and he’s looking forward to running him.”
In what looks a good renewal, seven of the eight runners won last time out.
Those include the Paul Nicholls-trained Vicente, who scored at Cheltenham last week, and the progressive course and distance winner Relentless Dreamer for Rebecca Curtis.
McCoy is also in the McManus colours on the Anthony Honeyball-trained Regal Encore in the £40,000 totepoolliveinfo.com Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle.
