Sacrificial stands-out
The Ger Lyons-trained Showcasing colt has shown more than enough ability in his four starts, bumping into some smart rivals along the way, to suggest he should have little difficulty in landing a maiden of this nature.
A promising second to subsequent Group 2 winner Raydara on his debut at Leopardstown, Sacrificial then finished third to Parish Boy in Naas before finishing fifth in the hot Curragh maiden won by the smart Ol’ Man River.
And, last time, back at the Curragh, he was caught late by Portage in a mile maiden, an effort which suggested he’d be suited by dropping back to seven furlongs tonight.
In this type of maiden, being drawn fourteen of fourteen need not be a major disadvantage and he can do the business.
