Forrest suffers fatal fall

Australian jockey Caitlin Forrest has died after a fall at Murray Bridge racecourse near Adelaide.

The 19-year-old apprentice was reportedly in the lead when her mount Colla Voce fell, bringing down three other horses.

Forrest was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but died from her injuries.

The news came just a day after another Australian jockey, Queensland-based Carly-Mae Pye, lost her life in a barrier trial at Callaghan Park, while 17-year-old apprentice Juan Saez has also died from injuries sustained at Indiana Grand racetrack in America.

* Tony McCoy rode his 150th winner of the season at Wetherby on Goodwood Mirage, but missed out on a further three victories after being stood down for the remainder of the afternoon.
