Go for Morning Run with Ruby

Successful on his comeback ride on Sunday, Ruby Walsh should strike again on Morning Run in today’s opener in Tipperary, the Follow Tipperary On Facebook Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Go for Morning Run with Ruby

Trained by Willie Mullins, Morning Run justified favouritism in a valuable mares event on her debut at the Punchestown Festival back in May, beating previous and the subsequent winner Carrigmoorna Rock, fourth behind Rich Coast on a Grade 3 novice hurdle on this track on Sunday.

She followed-up at Down Royal six weeks later, when justifying odds-on favouritism. And the five-year-old completed her bumper hat-trick in no-nonsense style at Wexford in August, beating subsequent Listowel winner Allez Encore.

Making her debut over hurdles, Morning Run should retain her unbeaten record, at the expense of Sean O’Brien’s Cloudy Rock, winner of a Tramore bumper and a beaten favourite on her hurdling bow at Limerick back in May.

With Noel Meade’s team in excellent form, Festive Felon might be capable of making a winning start over fences in the www.tipperaryraces.ie Beginners Chase in which he’ll meet a bunch of rivals rated within a few pounds of each other on hurdle ratings.

The Shark Hanlon-trained Fennis Moll, a convincing winner at Clonmel last Thursday, might be capable of defying a 4lb. mandatory penalty (he’s 3lb ‘well-in’) in the Costellos Tavern Handicap Hurdle.
