Gordon Lord Byron will head for the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week after another fine effort at Longchamp on Sunday.

Tom Hogan’s stable star finished runner-up for a second consecutive season in the Prix de la Foret, a race he also won in 2012 but was on this occasion two lengths in arrears of Olympic Glory.

Gordon Lord Byron ran in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over a mile on Champions Day last year, but this time the six-year-old will remain over six furlongs.
