Town can notch his 20th win
Understandably, the veteran has been a touch below his very best in recent outings, but his latest performance, when a close third behind Canvas Buddy and Seaview Mandy, was very good in the context of tonight’s challenge, and he can make the most of what is a favourable draw.
With a slightly sharper break than last time, he should be able to lead around, and will be very hard to catch.
The danger may come from Coris Share, who was a winner here back in July and has since gone unbeaten through a sprint stake in Waterford. She represents shrewd connections, and must be respected.
The two semi-finals of the Shanagarry A4 525 looks quite open, but Annies Return was impressive in the first round, and if she can break as quickly this time, she will take a world of catching in the first heat.
The September ‘12 bitch had her first-round heat sewn up by halfway, and though Conna Wizard was noted finishing with a real flourish, the winner had flown. The runner-up re-opposes and can’t be discounted, but Annies Return looks set for another trap-to-line victory.
