Davy Condon is waiting to be discharged from Cork University Hospital as he continues to make progress following his heavy fall at the local track on Sunday.

Condon fractured three vertebrae when he came to grief on Flaxen Flare at the second-last flight in the Online Ticket Sales At corkracecourse.ie Hurdle at Mallow. He was fitted with a brace for his injured back on Tuesday and likely to have it on for three months.

“I’ve spoken to Davy and the plan is to let his home either this evening or tomorrow,” said Dr Adrian McGoldrick, senior medical officer for the Irish Turf Club.
