Andrea Atzeni showed why he has been signed up by Qatar Racing with a good ride to get Cappella Sansevero home in the Nestle Supporting Irish Autism Action Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.

With Jamie Spencer retiring at the end of the season, rising star Atzeni is to be retained jockey in 2015 for Sheikh Fahad’s operation and wasted little time in displaying his talents.

He asked the 6-4 favourite to squeeze through a gap to make his challenge and the Coventry Stakes runner-up responded to be in command at the line as he proved three-quarters of a length too good for Rapid Applause.
