Boylesports the hero

Boylesports Hero, trained by Brendan Matthews for John Boyle, of Boylesports, ran out a most deserving winner of the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial on Saturday night at Limerick, justifying favouritism in some style.

Boylesports the hero

The son of Top Savings and Cabra Midget broke a little better than in previous outings and raced a close second as a tightly packed field raced to the bend. Crokers Champ, as is his wont, was first to rise and held a narrow lead at the turn, where he clashed with the market leader.

Boylesports Hero, the 5-4 favourite, quickly regained his composure and employed a superb turn of pace to lead into the backstraight.
