Maguire continues recovery closer home

Jason Maguire is set to be moved to a hospital closer to his Gloucester home as he continues to recover from a nasty fall at Stratford last Monday.

The Grand National-winning jockey was unseated from Scots Gaelic at the second flight in a two-mile handicap hurdle and kicked in the stomach by another horse.

Maguire was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, where X-rays revealed he suffered a fractured sternum and bleeding on his liver which resulted in having part of it removed. He was put into an induced coma while he had an operation.
