Double sees McCoy hit landmark

Tony McCoy notched his 150th winner of the season with a double at Ffos Las.

Having ridden in Ireland on Sunday, McCoy was in Leeds that evening evening where he came third behind Wimbledon champion Andy Murray and Welsh rugby international Leigh Halfpenny in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards.

It was then on to Ffos Las in Wales where McCoy won on It’s A Doddle (7-2) for JP McManus and Jonjo O’Neill in the IWEC Electrical Novices’ Hurdle, with victory only looking likely in the final 100 yards.

The 18-times champion jockey then partnered the Rebecca Curtis-trained newcomer Imagine The Chat (9-4 joint-favourite) in the Three Rivers “Newcomers” bumper coming out on top by three-quarters of a length.
