Scott bemused by off key Melodic

Jeremy Scott is determined to get the bottom of Melodic Rendezvous’ baffling poor performance in the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle on Saturday.

While nothing has yet come to light, the Somerset trainer is convinced there has to be a reason for the Elite Hurdle winner running below par when only fifth behind My Tent Or Yours.

“We haven’t found anything wrong with him yet. I’m sure there is because he definitely wasn’t sparkling,” Scott said.
