The frustrating Deep Speed can finally enjoy a turn, and land the nap in the process, in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden at Dundalk tonight.

Unraced as a juvenile, Paul Hickey’s colt has never been out of the first four in five outings, but worryingly has finished runner-up on three occasions.

Add in the fact that this seven furlongs is certainly short of his best distance and you begin to wonder why one fancies him in the first place!
