Dalton proves a super sub as Sword slays National rivals

Ben Dalton proved himself to be a real super sub when guiding Sword Fish to an easy success in the featured Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase yesterday.

Alan Crowe should have ridden the Christy Roche trained and J P McManus owned seven-year-old, but stood himself down, after taking a heavy fall from Speckled Wood at Clonmel last Thursday.

“Alan thought he would be okay, but was very sore”, reported McManus’ racing manager, Frank Berry.
