Go for Go All The Way
Mind you, there is little doubt that Jim Dreaper’s charge has plenty to prove, having lost his way somewhat of late.
Over a year ago, he produced excellent displays to score twice at Killarney, but it has been far from plain sailing in the meantime.
He returned to action, again at Killarney, in July and performed reasonably well to finish third behind Prince Of Fire and Absolutlyfantastic, both horses receiving plenty of weight in that handicap.
Disappointingly, the selection’s latest performance, back at Killarney in late August, was less than satisfactory.
Carrying top weight of 11-10, in a competitive handicap, Go All The Way could only manage seventh of eight finishers behind Shot From The Hip. The quick surface on that occasion, however, was not in his favour.
This is a much easier assignment and it is far too early to be giving up on the eight-year-old.
Speckled Wood and Dressedtothenines are head and shoulders over the opposition in the www.countysligoraces.com Mares Beginners Chase.
Both horses, though, are owned by JP McManus, so it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the betting market may prove all-important.
Dressedtothenines was the better hurdler, but Speckled Wood, last seen chasing home Curvacious over flights at Killarney in May, shapes more like a chaser and is given preference.

He always found a way to get beaten in bumpers and over hurdles, but was successful in the point-to-point fields and, perhaps, this will prove his true calling.
