Bach can hit the right note

Bach can hit the right note

Jumping shouldn't be an issue for the former winning point-to-pointer, who has created a most favourable impression in two successes in bumpers of late.

He made his racecourse debut at Gowran Park in June, taking a two and a half mile event in good style.

Then he came to this track for a winners' race last month and was even more impressive.

The trip on this occasion was two miles and three and he was allowed stride on with more than five furlongs to cover by Declan Queally.

The selection was soon in total control, easing clear up the straight to score with plenty in hand by eight lengths.

You could argue that two-miles now may well prove on the short side for him, but connections will surely be well aware of that and the likelihood is Bach To Whitingbay's undoubted stamina will be utilised to the full.

The most interesting contest on the programme is the Cork Racecourse Social Package Hurdle, which brings together some smart sorts.

The one they all have to beat is Charles Byrnes' Domination, although his lack of fluency, as a jumper, is a worry at times.

Nevertheless, he will arrive in terrific shape, fresh from winning a competitive handicap on the flat at the Curragh and only failing by a head to Edeymi in the valuable Connacht Hotel Handicap at Galway a week ago.

Taking all claims into consideration, Domination is now 13lbs better in with Edeymi ad that has to be a major consideration, even accepting the different disciplines.

At Naas, Aidan O'Brien's Juniper Tree, who caught the eye when third to stable companion, Australia, at the Curragh, should win the Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Maiden.
