Beauty can go in at third time of asking

Sleeping Beauty, who made dramatic improvement from her first run to the second, is the nap choice to score at the third time of asking in the Follow Us On Facebook Fillies And Mares’ Maiden at Fairyhouse this evening.

The daughter of Oasis Dream and the former Irish 1000 Guineas winner, Nightime, made little show on her debut when 8th of ten behind Pearl Of Africa at Dundalk in April.

The selection was then, rather ambitiously, put into Listed company at Navan last month and it was no surprise went off at 25-1.

But she produced a performance full of promise to be beaten six lengths and half a length into third behind the impressive Alive Alive Oh and the 104-rated Magical Dream.

Eddie Lynam’s Yulong Baoju can provide the answer to the six-runner Summer Family Day On 14th July Rated Race.

The grey Acclamation filly made a good start when beating Quadriga and the subsequent dual winner, Three Sea Captains, at Dundalk in August.

She reappeared in a valuable premier handicap at Naas in May and could only manage 10th of 18 behind stable companion, Gathering Power.

The ground may well have been too soft for her, however, and Yulong Baoju is given the benefit of the doubt, on a much faster surface and in a far less competitive contest.

It is surely odds on that the opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden will go to a newcomer and the most likely candidate is Aidan O’Brien’s Wonderfully.

She is a sister to the highly promising Mars and, hopefully, the market will speak in her favour.

John Oxx’s first-timer, Waahy, a Manduro half brother to the very smart Akeed Mofeed, gets the nod in the Follow Fairyhouse On Twitter Median Auction Maiden.
