McCoy set to be released

McCoy hoping for Tony McCoy hopes to be released from hospital this evening, having been detained in Gloucestershire Royal since his fall at Cheltenham last week.

McCoy suffered broken ribs in a heavy spill from the Nicky Henderson-trained Quantitativeeasing at Prestbury Park on Thursday, and as a result will miss the Punchestown Festival.

He had been thought likely to leave hospital the following day, but that was not the case. No firm date has been set for his return to the saddle.
