Kandinski can go one better

Far from neglected in the market to beat Willie Mullins’ odds-on Made In Germany, the selection looked all over a winner for most of the straight. Made In Germany, however, found loads for hard driving and wore down Kandinski near the line to score by a length. Time may reveal there was no disgrace in that.
There are two interesting newcomers in What Present, a half-brother to the high-class Asian Maze, and Jazz Messenger’s half-brother, Jazz Concerto, but Kandinski sets a decent standard and gets the vote.
The Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Novice Hurdle can go to the hat-trick seeking Willie Mullins-trained Suntiep.
He won a bumper at Limerick and followed by taking a maiden hurdle over this course and distance by a length and three quarters from Hard To Swallow.
His overall form is admittedly ordinary, but he’s tough and resolute and can prove too strong for Bonisland.
Mullins’ City Slicker gets the vote in the PGA’s At Navan Golf Club Maiden Hurdle, although his tendency to jump to the right is an obvious worry.
He certainly behaved in that manner at Navan last month, and ran far too free for his own good as well, when finishing a well-beaten second behind Irish Thistle. This however, is a weak race and City Slicker should prove good enough.
