You Must Know Me can lead his rivals a merry dance

Henry de Bromhead’s You Must Know Me can lead his rivals a merry dance in the Buy Your 2013 Annual Membership Beginners Chase at Punchestown today, should the meeting survive an 8.00am inspection.

You Must Know Me can lead his rivals a merry dance

The lightly raced gelding indicated that he is a horse with a massive future when making a cracking start over fences at Navan earlier in the month.

Taken straight into the lead by Andrew Lynch, the selection made it hot for the highly regarded 1-5 shot, Boston Bob.

You Must Know Me produced an excellent round of jumping and it was only by half a length that he finally went under to the hot-pot.

That was over two and a half miles and the manner in which de Bromhead’s charge was staying on at the end gave every reason to believe this three miles will prove ideal.

Boston Bob is trained by Willie Mullins and that horse’s stable companion, Vesper Bell, beaten into second by the race-fit Make A Track at Thurles, is the obvious danger.

Charles Byrnes’ Solwhit is a fascinating challenger for the Follow Punchestown On Facebook Hurdle.

He has been off for 708 days, almost two years, but if retaining a decent portion of his ability has the capacity to make short work of these rivals.

The last three times Solwhit ran, he was beaten into second on each occasion by Hurricane Fly and that speaks for itself.

At Tramore, which is also subject to an 8.00am inspection, Eric McNamara’s Ponmeword can take the Find Us On Facebook Handicap Chase.

He bolted in by six lengths at Limerick five days ago and is fancied to defy a mandatory 4lbs penalty. Ponmeword goes up by 7lbs in the future.

Ted Veale, beaten into second by Sizing Rio in a Grade 3 at Navan, gets the nod in a tricky little six-runner Waterford And Tramore Racecourse Novice Hurdle.
