Rule The World can continue Morris’ good start

Mouse Morris can continue his good start to the campaign by saddling Rule The World to land the INH Stallion Owners’ EBF Novice Hurdle at Thurles this afternoon.

Rule The World can continue Morris’ good start

The ex-winning point-to-pointer will be having just a third outing on the racecourse and looks a decent talent.

He won a modest two-mile maiden by 13 lengths at Punchestown last month and then took a dramatic rise in trip, over an extra mile, at Cork last time.

The selection emerged from that Grade 3 contest with real credit, finishing a head second behind a thorough stayer in Our Vinnie. Dropping back a little in trip now should work in favour of Morris’ charge and he will prove hard to beat,

Davy Russell partners Rule The World for Gigginstown House Stud and will also wear the same colours aboard Willie Mullins’ Tempo Du Camp in the Munster Maiden Hurdle.

The ex-French horse gets the vote, even though having to overcome an absence of 936 days.

He was last seen when winning a three-year-old bumper, over 11 furlongs plus, at Le Lion-d’angers in May of 2010.

Tempo Du Camp is still only a five-year-old, however, and Mullins showed at Fairyhouse yesterday that producing French horses to win, following a long break, is not a problem to him.

Lord Of Lords, who took a bumper at Navan in March by 23 lengths for Helena Keaveney, is his most interesting rival. He is now in the care of Edward O’Grady.

Tony Martin’s Wingtips, a very costly failure at Fairyhouse earlier this month, can redress the balance somewhat in the Cahir Maiden Hurdle.

Going of at 2-9 then, Wingtips could only manage third behind Blacklough and Akatara in a race his pilot on that occasion, the talented Bryan Cooper, will not look back on with any great relish.
