Lily’s Angel set for hat-trick

Lily’s Angel, who has been a revelation since coming to Ireland to be trained by Ger Lyons, can land the Listed Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes at Dundalk tonight.

She was a useful sort when in the care of Richard Fahey in England, but has certainly gone forward for a change of environment.

The three-year-old has won both her races thus far for Lyons, starting with a competitive handicap at Leopardstown in September.

Lily’s Angel reappeared on this track two weeks ago and went off the 7-4 favourite for a one-mile conditions race.

The daughter of Dark Angel certainly didn’t disappoint, cruising home three lengths clear of Devotion.

The opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden is best left to Ken Condon’s In Salutem.

He was doing all his best work at the end of five furlongs when second behind Scrapper Blackwell here a week ago and a step up in trip is just what’s required.

The Irish Stallion Farms’ Median Auction Maiden can go the way of the reasonably progressive Dark Pulse.

His rating of 88 clearly entitles him to win a contest of this nature and he can show his appreciation of being dropped in class, having cut little ice when eighth of ten in the Listed event won by Aidan O’Brien’s Lines Of Battle at Dundalk last month.
