Kyle is king again

Kyle King collected back-to-back all age cups at Kilflynn yesterday.

Kyle is king again

The fawn dog, who last season was withdrawn from the final of Classic Club Champion Stakes at Clonmel, romped through this classy all-age in brilliant style. The 7/4 long odds favourite before coursing on Saturday morning, he was paired with the Pa Fitzgerald trained Toastmaster in the final. It was one way traffic in the deciding buckle as Kyle King powered up the heavy underfoot stretch to collect the Stephen Fuller Memorial Cup and €3,000.

Athenry trainer Gerry Holian sent out last season’s Kitty Butler Stakes winner Bossa Nova Babe to collect valuable Champion Stakes points for Powerstown next February in the John Herbert Memorial All-Age Bitch Stake. She impressed throughout and showed a liking for the testing ground in all her courses.

The Divilly family collected the Oaks ticket with the very impressive Crafty Diviso, who was freely available at 7/1 on Friday. She got her closest call in the final when she only took the decision over Katelyn’s Bumble on a just-up in a straight run to the escape.

The Tom O’Connor trained Mister Music won the Reserve Derby Trial Stake. He led throughout in the final against Sullane Show.
