Enright the hero as Tiara lands touch

Philip Enright proved the hero at Ballinrobe’s final meeting of 2012 yesterday when performing heroics to stay on board Special Tiara en route to landing the www.thetotegoracingclub.com Beginners Chase.

Backed from 7/1 to 9/2, Special Tiara made a terrible mistake at the third, almost sending Enright into orbit. But he held on tight, soon had his mount back on an even keel and back in front before going to record a one-length victory over Plan A.

Enright admitted afterwards: “He’s a real two-miler. He loves to jump and gallop. He jumped brilliantly, except for that one fence. He guessed at it but, luckily, he never lost his momentum and never dipped his head, which gave me a chance of staying on board.”
