Major plans for Ursa
The Tommy Carmody-trained stayer is regarded as a Cup horse for next year after he kept on gamely to claim fourth place behind Encke and Camelot in the Doncaster Classic on Saturday.
The Galileo colt had won four of his previous six starts this season and finished second on the other two as he came through the ranks.
“He ran a very solid race. We were asking big questions of him and when Encke went by him most horses folded up and dropped away but he didn’t. He galloped all the way to the line,” said Tim Jones, racing manager to owner Andrew Tinkler.
