Duntle team lodge appeal

The connections of Duntle, trainer David Wachman and the owners of the horse, the Niarchos family, have decided to appeal the decision of the stewards to demote their filly to second place in the Group 1 Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.

Duntle beat Henry Cecil’s Chachamaidee by a short head, but controversially lost the race in the stewards’ room.

Wayne Lordan, who partnered Duntle, has also has decided to appeal the two-day ban imposed on him for careless riding.
