Rosebud looks set to go one better

The selection ran badly on fast ground in the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh in late May and was then given a decent break, before returning at the Galway festival earlier this month. Meeting her favoured soft surface, Yellow Rosebud was beaten a head into second by Lady Wingshot.
The latter got all of the breaks in that Listed event and Yellow Rosebud has every chance of reversing placings on 2lbs better terms.

The nine furlongs Mocklershill Stables Race is tricky, even if there are only five runners and one of them, Hittin’the Skids, is a no-hoper. The nod falls on Tommy Stack’s Parkers Mill, who is on a retrieving mission, having finished third of three, went off at 2-5, behind The Real Article and Golden Sunbird at Killarney in May. The theory is that the mile and six then was much further than he wanted to travel and, hopefully, the real Parkers Mill will arrive now, on a more suitable surface and dropping down five furlongs in distance.
At Bellewstown Shadow Eile is impossible to oppose in the McCabe Garage Drogheda Mares’ Hurdle, while Willie Mullins’ Connaught Manor should relish the three miles of the www.thetote.com Maiden Hurdle.
